Stuff Happens Here Workshop

We recently held a workshop on the Isle of Sheppey in association with the Whitstable Biennale to design a collaborative typeface called Sheerness Sans. The typeface was built from and made by printing different objects found on Sheppey. These objects ranged from fragments of plastic to architectural details. The image above is a detail of some of the characters that were produced.

The Immortality Auction 2016

We have been working with Freedom from Torture on the identity for their next event, during which authors such as Ian McEwan, Rose Tremain and Eleanor Catton will auction off characters in their upcoming novels in the name of putting an end to torture across the world.

This Saturday as part of the Art Licks Weekend we will be reopening the now infamous ‘work-form bar’ at Assembly Point’s Open Studios, serving tropical cocktails into the autumn evening! Expect Blue lagoons, Harvey Wallbangers, & a nice sea breeze. This year we have also invited 3 studio residents to design a limited edition print to accompany each sun downer.

Art in Romney Marsh 2016

Art In Romney Marsh is an annual exhibition of contemporary artists’ site specific work and a celebration of the unique landscapes to be found on Romney Marsh, South East Kent. We designed the invite this year in collaboration with Illustrator ZEEL. The gate folded invitation reveals an illustrated map of the coastline and participating churches. Printed in South East Kent.

We have recently completed the third issue of Noit, an annual journal edited by Flat Time House. This special edition includes hand-drawn artwork and borders by Marc Camille Chaimowicz. Designed with Flaminia Rossi, the publication can be purchased through the Flat Time House website.

We have just begun a year long project with ‘Stuff Happens Here’ – a group of young creative event programmers (18- 25) based on the Isle of Sheppey. The project is organised through Whitstable Biennale and led by artist Esther Collins. Project announcement above.

They Call It Bread

We designed this recipe book for the charitable organisation Freedom From Torture. The publication contains recipes and poetry written by members of The Bread Group, a therapeutic network that supports survivors of torture from across the world.

LET IT RAIN!

LET IT RAIN! is a new exhibition opening at Assembly Point opening on the 16th of March, curated by Millington Marriott. Artists include Claire Boyd, Lucas Dillon, Mark Scott-Wood, Richard Seaholme, Benjamin Edwin Slinger. We worked with Millington and Marriott on the identity for the exhibition.

Coming to Terms

For the last year we have been working with Ligatus/CCW Graduate School on the production of a new, comprehensive manual of bookbinding, to be released in 2016. Written by professor Nicholas Pickwoad, the publication will feature many illustrations from our good friend Peter Rhodes.

The Contingent Image

We have designed the catalogue and exhibition graphics forTrevor Abbott’s upcoming exhibition ‘The Contingent Image’. It opens at Neo:gallery27 on the 19th November 2015, running through to the 3rd January 2016.

The Swimming Pool Library

A version of the Swimming Pool Library, a short film by artist Scott Lyman, and produced by Mint & Lime, was shown inside a bespoke folly at this year’s New Contemporaries. We designed the credits for the long-playing version of the film.

Lewisham Art House

The website we have designed for Lewisham Art House is now live! The new website is designed to more fluidly navigate between the many different strands of activity that take place in and around the art house.

Glass

We have been working with South London based band Glass for the last year. Their identity features a re-drawing of Richmond 16 condensed, re-discovered in the Letterpress Workshop at Camberwell College of Arts.

Back in April 2015, we were asked to write an article discussing our experiences of life after graduation, for the first Crowd Talks book. We supplied a ’journey stick’ of sorts – a rambling, uncertain collection of images and texts from the last 2 years.

Jones of Brockley & The Perry Vale

The summer of 2015 saw the opening of both a new food shop in Brockley, and a restaurant in Forest Hill, both of which we designed identities, websites and printed items for. Half a year later, they are both going strong.
