Views From Convalescent Hill is an online public collection exploring the heritage of wellbeing, rest, and care in Felixstowe.

Through oral histories and research drawn from archives, objects, and residents, the project aims to uncover and share personal stories and memories of Felixstowe as a spa town and a place for convalescence, while considering what ‘health’ means to people today.

For the project’s visual identity we designed a typeface inspired by lettering found in archival photographs of Felixstowe and created a set of viewpoint symbols. The website design features pages that overlay each other and an archive that rearranges as you explore it.
